2pm - 2.30pm ELECTRO-ACOUSTIC GUITARS – FOCUS ON SOUND
Using Yamaha’s APX and CPX900 guitars, Yamaha Guitars specialist Julian Ward will introduce the new pick up system while Hugh Burns will demonstrate different styles of playing on each guitar to show how different guitars best suit different styles.
3pm-3.30pm DIFFERENT BODY SHAPES FOR DIFFERENT STYLES
Using Yamaha’s High End L Series Acoustic Guitars, Hugh will discuss how to use the acoustic guitar in a recording situation and demonstrate the styles suited to different body shapes.
4pm - 4.30pm DISCOVERING POP GUITAR
Using Yamaha’s High End Electric Guitars, this session will explore the different styles of playing in popular music, with Hugh performing with Yamaha’s SA2200, AEX1500 and SG2000 guitars.

Hugh Burns is the icanplayit rock guitar teacher. Hugh is a guitarist and a composer with an international reputation for excellence. He has played on many pop and rock recordings including George Michael’s Faith and Careless Whisper, Paul McCartney’s and Michael Jackson’s Pipes of Peace and Scott Walker’s Drift. As a studio guitarist, he has also played on many film soundtracks including The Full Monty, Die Another Day, Don Quixote, Tristen and Isolda and An Unfinished Life. He has written music for television documentaries and films and published two guitar instruction books. Hugh has released six solo albums, the most recent being ‘Synchromatic’. |
