Disability Access Information/Statement

  • This guide gives information to assist you in planning your visit and on the facilities available for people with disabilities.
  • The store has three floors and is a Grade II Listed building.
  • The main entrance is located on Wardour Street, access being gained via four steps

A large well defined sign is displayed here for people with visual impairment and also detailing information relating to wheelchair access, which directs customers needing wheelchair access to the Sheraton Street entrance.

Customers with limited mobility - Sheraton Street side entrance
An access bell is provided for customers to summon for access or assistance. All areas of the building are accessible to customers with limited mobility including wheelchair users to view and purchase products. There is access via a small ramp from the side entrance in Sheraton Street through onto the ground floor, with ramp access and wheel chair lifts provided throughout which will make a passenger lift accessible, enabling customers to gain access to the upper and lower departmental floors, with staff assistance.

The building features wide corridors and doors where possible permitting access for the disabled; however as we are housed in a listed building some existing doorways cannot be altered. The disabled customer lift has tactile signs. Low level counters or other provisions ensure ease of transactions.

Disabled Parking Facilities
This courtesy is not offered or possible for our customers. However there is multi storey car parking available at Soho Car Park in nearby Poland Street.

First Aid
There are suitably trained company First Aid persons available to assist if needed. Trained staff will assist in rescue from all floors when the lift is not being used. An Evacuation Chair on upper and lower floors is available to assist when the lift is not being used.

Dogs
Guide dogs and hearing dogs are welcome and they can stay with you while you are in the shop. If you wish to bring your guide or hearing dog to the shop, please advise. We can also provide drinking water for your dog.

Sign Language Interpreter
Regrettably we are unable to provide this facility (British Sign Language (BSL) for native BSL users).
