Product Description:

The YEP-842S is Yamaha's flagship custom euphonium, developed with some of the best euphonium players in the world. Based on the YEP-642, the YEP-842S is an outstanding instrument, featuring some changes in leadpipe, braces, tubing and particularly a thinner bell.

• Monel pistons: Monel pistons are resistant to corrosion and are an ideal choice for professional baritone pistons which must retain precise fit and smooth action over many years.

• Hand-lapped valves and slides: Hand-lapping valves and slides ensures an absolutely perfect fit and seal between the valve pistons and casing or slide parts. Such a perfect fit helps to achieve smooth air flow and smooth action and improve the response and intonation of the instrument.

• Pressure formed tubing: Perfectly rounded tubing results in less turbulence and a smoother air flow, thus allowing for an excellent scale and reduced resistance.

• Hand-hammered yellow brass bell: A hand-hammered yellow brass bell produces a slightly more intense tone with a pure, perfectly-balanced tone with quick response and extra presence.

• Compensating system: The compensating system found on the YEP-842S ensures accurate tuning on all notes throughout the instrument's range, particularly in the difficult low range.

• Bell taper and leadpipe: The combination of the bell taper and leadpipe is designed for greater projection, control and response.

• Intonation: True and centered intonation makes this great euphonium even better!

• Thinner bell: Improved response compared to the YEP-642.

• Bow guards: The improved longer bow gaurds feature an enclosed wire for aided protection.

• New design for holding tube: Promotes eaier hand position for holding the instrument.

• First valve tuning slide: A shorter 1st valve tuning slide makes for better overall intonation.
