Model 185 Baby Grand Piano

The Model 185 brings two, usually separate worlds together: the intimacy, warmth and pleasure of playing at home, and the power, precision and projection of public performance.

Its sensitivity makes it ideal for more intimate performances for smaller audiences, whilst its sonorous sound is the embodiment of Bösendorfer's hallmark concert tone. The same craftsmen that create Bösendorfer's full concert grands are also responsible for making the Model 185 an exceptional piano.

Model 200 Grand Piano

For over 50 years, Bösendorfer's Model 200 has been one of their most popular. In creating it, Bösendorfer have produced a piano whose tonal and dynamic abilities holds exceptionally under scrutiny against those of its larger brothers - which is why it is so often the choice of professional teachers at conservatories and music schools across the world.

Its compact size, however, means that it is equally at home in a private space and, as with all Bösendorfer pianos, it has the same famous, rich and moving Bösendorfer sound.

Playability, workmanship and mechanical design are all at the superior level we've come to expect from Bösendorfer.

Model 214 'Salon' Grand Piano

Designed and built to offer exceptional capability for concert performances in medium sized halls, Bösendorfer's 'Salon Grand' Model 214 is a joy for both pianist and listener.

Its fullness of sound, precision of touch and incredible dynamic control are a delight to play whilst its sustained, warm tonal character will be warmly applauded.

Salon grands rose in popularity at the start of the Bieder-meier period (the style in painting, literature and furniture from around 1815 to 1848). During that era, an important role was played in Viennese musical life by elegantly furnished salons where the foremost composers of their day would present their works. During the 19th century, salons developed into exclusive gathering places for Austria’s aristocratic and bourgeois society.

Model 280 Concert Grand Piano

Bösendorfer's constant contact with the world’s greatest pianists and most eminent conductors enabled them to draw up a detailed 'wish list' for a new concert grand model. Thanks to a combination of new technological development and Bösendorfer's natural musical heritage, that wish list is now a reality in the Model 280.

The Bösendorfer principle of construction views the entire instrument as a cohesive whole. This is what allows their pianos to achieve that uniquely rich tone colour palette and their characteristic singing timbre - and is what makes the Model 280 Concert Grand Piano so special.

A new model created for the 21st century, the Model 280 is multitalented. It can hold its own against the forces of a large orchestra, yet it has all the sensitivity required for an accompanying role in a chamber music setting. In the bass it has a clarity and fundamental tone that no instrument has achieved ever before.

Model 290 Imperial Flagship Grand Piano

Of all the Bösendorfer grand pianos, Model 290 - the Imperial Flagship grand, carries the Bösendorfer heritage in its most pronounced form. Historically, the Imperial was the 19th grand piano model made by the Bösendorfer company.

Originally built following a suggestion by composer Ferruccio Busoni, the Imperial has 97 keys, ie eight full octaves. This expanded range allows faithful performances of a number of compositions by Bartók, Debussy, Ravel and, not least of all, Busoni.

Combining a hugely powerful soundboard and a large proportion of mountain spruce from the Alps, Model 290's sound is almost orchestral. The Bösendorfer 'resonating chamber principle' which views the entire instrument as a cohesive whole, generates unsurpassed power and a poignantly full tone. Model 290 is Bösendorfer's only standard grand piano model to have acquired an epithet when it was first built (around 1900).

Its commanding presence in some of the world’s great concert halls sets the standard by which other grand pianos are judged.
