Chappell of Bond Street is delighted to continue hosting the second full season of Lunchtime Conservatoire Concerts featuring some of the very best pianists from our London conservatoires.
The third recital in the spring/summer mini-season is on Wednesday May 27th at 1pm where we feature Olga Stezhko. Olga’s programme features a variety of Russian virtuoso Piano Music, along with a contemporary Japanese work., currently studying at the Royal Academy of Music

The Artist:
Olga Stezhko - was born in Minsk, Belarus. At the age of three she began to sing and perform at the famous national folk studio “Gostzitza” and toured from Scandinavia to the far east of Russia. Olga began to play the piano when she was five years old and entered the Republican Music College in Minsk a year later. She studied with the famous Belarussian pianists Oleg Krimer and Evgeny Pukst, graduating with distinction. In 2002 Olga received one of the few music scholarships to study at the prestigious United World College of the Adriatic in Italy, where her teachers were Alberto Miodini and the legendary Trio di Trieste. In 2004 she entered the Royal Academy of Music with a scholarship. Olga gained her Bachelor’s degree with First Class Honours in 2008 and is currently completing her Master’s programme with Ian Fountain. Her studies are supported by the Royal Academy of Music and Music Benevolent Fund.
 
Olga is the winner of many international piano competitions. Her most recent prize is the Grand Prix at the First European Piano Competition "Halina Czerny-Stefanska in memoriam" in Poland. Other 1st Prizes include the Bradshaw & Buono International Piano Competition (USA), the Stefano Marizza Piano Competition (Italy), the N. Rubinstein International Piano Competition (France), the Chopin International Piano Competition for Young Pianists (Poland) and others. She is also a holder of the Winifred Christie Trust Award, Frances Earle Award, Miriam Duncan Scholarship and Krein Scholarship, as well as many other awards from the Royal Academy of Music. Olga has participated in various masterclasses with such distinguished musicians as H. Czerny-Stefanska, A. Satz, Sir Maxwell Davies, I. Fliter, L. Zilberstein, G. Ohlsson, D. Bashkirov, P. Lane and others.
 
At the age of eight, she made her debut on stage at the National Opera House in Minsk and a year later her international debut at the Music Academy in Bialostok, Poland. Since then she has given numerous performances at the most important halls in Belarus, touring across the country including performances with the State Symphony Orchestra in the Big Philharmonic Hall in Minsk. Olga has also toured with solo, chamber and orchestra concerts in Poland, Germany, Russia, Croatia, Italy, Slovenia, the UK and Spain. In October 2007 she made her New York debut at Carnegie Hall. In July 2008 she participated in Encuentro de Musica y Academia de Santander in Spain, and played solo and chamber concerts at such major venues as Sala Argenta and Sala Pereda in Palacio de Festivales de Cantabria amongst others. In 2009, her concert engagements include performances in the UK, Italy, Germany, Spain, Poland and Belarus. Furthermore, Olga has frequently featured in national radio and television broadcasts.
